It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Alistair MacPherson on Wednesday 17 July 2019 aged 86.
Alistair joined Dumbarton Curling Club in 1989, although he always retained Bank of Scotland as his mother club, and was still an active player in both clubs until 2017 when he was forced to retire from playing due to ill health.
During his time with Dumbarton Alistair won the Miller Cup (8 times), McArthur Trophy (7 times), The Maltman and the Strathleven Quaich (6 times), Houston Memorial (3 times); and the Filshie and the Wright Pairs (2 times). He also represented Dumbarton in Province and RCCC competitions, and was part of the successful Dumbarton rinks that won the Claud Allan Medal in 1998 and 2001, the last time Dumbarton won the Claud Allan Medal.
Alistair's funeral will be held at Cardross Parish Church on Thursday 25 July at 1:15pm.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Alistair's family at this difficult time.
