Welcome to Our Site

"Since we have enjoyed good fellowship on the ice, and are resolved that we will meet and form ourselves in a band of brotherhood and fellowship, and that we will be called Dumbarton Curling Club." - These are the opening words in the minutes of the first meeting held in 1815.

Membership is open to both male and female players of all ages and abilities.

You don't require any expensive equipment, just a pair of training shoes and a jumper, as all other equipment will be provided.

Coaching from our own qualified coach will always be available to our members, particularly for those who are new to curling, and our more experienced players are always willing to provide advice and assistance.

More information pertaining to Dumbarton Curling Club can be found on our About Us page.

presidents shield 2025At the club's AGM for the season 2024/25, Jonny Flowers was awarded the President's Shield, which was presented by Club President David Armstrong.

This year, Jonny received the Shield for assisting David after his accident at the end of the Lennox Cup match against Helensburgh at Greenacres.  Jonny not only remained with David while he was receiving treatment at the rink, but also took him to A&E and stayed until he was released from hospital and took home.

Unfortunately, Jonny wasn't able to attend the AGM on the night, but David expressed his gratitude to Jonny during the meeting and was hoping to see him soon to thank him in person.

The President's Shield was awarded to the club by Dumbarton District Council in 1992 to commemorate the 175th anniversary of the Club's founding in 1815.

There is no set criteria to decide the recipient of the Shield with the decision being at the discretion of the President and/or committee.  It has been awarded in the past for most improved player, most consistent player, overall contribution to the club during the season.
